The Munk-Munkácsi family in the inter-war period

During this relatively short period, the family was frequently on the move, for various reasons, and toward new destinations. Members of the larger family who lived in the areas that were allocated to neighboring countries under the Treaty of Trianon moved to the center of these new territorial entities: Pressburg, Brno, Cluj, Timisoara, Bucharest.

Emigration to the United States began already during the Dual Monarchy (1867 to 1918) and continued in the inter-war years. Some family members, however, chose West-Europe, for educational purposes or career considerations: Vienna, Berlin, Basel, Paris, London. As a new target, Eretz Yisroel also emerged.
