A rövid beszámolóban leírja a hajóutat és a megérkezést, amelynek során kelet-európai kivándorlókkal is találkozott. Írásában bemutatja az évszázadok óta a négy szent városban: Jeruzsálemben, Tiberiáson, Cfáton és Hebronban élő zsidók mindennapjait, és részletesen ír az új jisuvok (közösségek), a Rothschild báró támogatásával létrejött kolóniák és a zsidó iskolák életéről is. „Minden zsidó, aki csak teheti, iparkodjék életében legalább egyszer ellátogatni arra a földre, »melyet az Örökkévaló, a te Istened neked ígért« szent emlékeket idézni a szép múltból, munkát kérni a küzdelmes jelenből …” – írja Fürst. Ő maga az élményeken kívül emlékként egy maroknyi földet hozott a Kidron-völgy sivatagjának homokjából, amelyet később a múzeumnak ajándékozott, 1940-ben pedig végleg Tel-Avivba költözött.</text>

<text>Aladár Fürst, teacher of the Jewish Boys’ Grammar School of Budapest and co-worker of the Jewish Museum, visited the Holy Land in May 1924 and published his experiences the very same year. In his short report he describes the voyageand the arrival, during which he met East-European immigrants too. In his writings he depicts the everyday life of the Jews in the four holy cities: Jerusalem, Tiberias, Safed and Hebron and writes in detail about the new yishuvim (communities) and the life of the Jewish colonies and schools sponsored by Baron Rothschild. ‘Every Jew, whoever can, shall at least once in his life visit the land “which the LORD, your God, promised to you” in order to evoke holy memories of the beautiful past and seek a role of the present struggles...’ writes Fürst. He himself, apart from his experiences, brought a handful of earth as a souvenir from the sand of the Kidron valley desert, which he later gave to the museum. In 1940 he made aliyah and settled in Tel-Aviv. </text>

Szabolcsi Miksa, majd fia, Lajos főszerkesztősége idején a lap országos visszhangot kiváltó cikkeivel a neológ zsidó közélet megteremtőjévé és irányítójává vált. Az Egyenlőség hasábjain merült fel először egy magyar zsidó múzeum létrehozásának gondolata is. 1938-as betiltásáig a lap rendszeresen közölt a múzeummal, a múzeumi gyűjtemény fejlődésével kapcsolatos cikkeket. 1930-ban az újság félszázados jubileumát nyolcnapos ünnepségsorozattal köszöntötték, amelyen szinte minden hitközség és zsidó egyesület részt vett. A gratuláló levelek ezrei között kapta a szerkesztőség a Magyar Zsidók Egyesületének ezüstlemezre vésett emléklapját, amelyet az akkori főszerkesztő, Szabolcsi Lajos helyezett el a lap bábáskodásával megszületett Magyar Zsidó Múzeum gyűjteményében.

<text>A székely szombatos közösség eredete a 16–17. századig vezethető vissza, amikor székely magyarok egy kis csoportja a reformáció során követni kezdte azokat a bibliai eredetű vallási előírásokat, amelyeket a kereszténység eltörölt. Bözödújfalusi közösségük 1867-ben halahikusan is áttért a zsidó hitre, és prozelita hitközséget alapítottak. A zsidó hitet elfogadó székelyek történetét elsőként Kohn Sámuel Dohány utcai rabbi írta meg 1896-ban. A közösség osztozott a zsidóság sorsában, 1944-ben tagjaikat Auschwitzba deportálták. <br /><br /><em>The origins of the Szekler Sabbatarians can be traced back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when, during the Reformation era, a small group of Hungarian Szeklers started to observe the biblical rules that had been abolished by Christianity. In 1867 their community in Bözödújfalu made a Halachic conversion to Judaism, and founded a Proselyte community. The history of the Szeklers accepting the Jewish faith was first written by Sámuel Kohn, rabbi of the Dohány street Synagogue in 1896. The community had to share the fate of the Jews and in 1944 they were deported to Auschwitz. Their old prayer books, which contain the almost literal Hungarian translation of the Jewish prayers and blessings and preserve the 16th century status of the Hungarian language, were sent to the collection by Kornél Fischer.</em></text>

Kegyetlen csapások suhognak fejünk körül, szakadékokat nyitnak a percek lábaink előtt.
