Szidur. Magyarra fordított imakönyv. Borítója elefántcsont utánzat, szélén réz kerettel. Fedőlapján ezüst keretben díszes tükör. Jobb sarkában lila bársonnyal díszített alapú aranyozott kettős kőtábla, díszes elefántcsont keretben. Bal sarkában ezüst indákból álló veret. A tükrön, felülről lefelé, jobbról , majd középen balról lefelé elefántcsont lap, virág alakú kivágatokkal. Ezalatt balról ferdén lefelé arany, vagy aranyozott sáv virágokkal és levelekkel. Ezalatt a bal sarokban a kivágatokkal díszített elefántcsont lap háromszög alakban ismétlődik. Hátsó borítója sima. A lap szélei aranyozottak. Kapcsa cizellált aranyozott.

Description

A tizenkilencedik század első felében Anton Schmid sokáig egyedüliként volt jogosult héber könyvek nyomtatására Bécsben . Schmid keresztény nyomdász volt, aki keleti nyelveket tanult Bécsben, majd a héber nyomdászatot Lembergben tanulmányozta. Nyomdájában elsősorban a klasszikus szövegeket, Bibliát, Talmudot, kommentárokat és imakönyveket nyomtattak, kiváló minőségben. Egy 1800-as császári rendelet megtiltotta a héber könyvek importját az Osztrák császárság területére, így Schmid versenytársak nélkül maradt. 1794-ben megjelent imakönyvének címlapján latin betűs német szöveg utal a tényre, hogy Schmid császári királyi privilegizált héber nyomdász. Nyomdája ellátta a sokszínű Habsburg zsidóság minden közösségét. 1794-ben megjelent ünnepi imakönyv-sorozata (mahzór) a lengyel és a morva rítus szerinti imarendet követi. Címlapja a híres amszterdami hágádá címlapjának elrendezését követi: a gazdagon redőzött drapéria alatt Mózes és Áron alakja látható, felettük kis medaillonokban bibliai jelenetek illusztrációival. A kötéstáblán későbbi fém táblácska van, melynek szövege: „Isten dicsőítésére, imáink beteljesülésére! Dr. Rosenthal Jenő és neje Günsberger Irma 1904.szeptember 1-én.”

A zsidó tradíció írott betűkhöz fűződő hagyományai miatt a nyomtatás elterjedését követően is megmaradt a kézzel írt imakönyvek kiemelkedő jelentősége. A 18. században elsősorban Közép-Európában a meggazdagodott zsidó családokban divatossá lettek az illusztrált, kéziratos, személyes használatra szánt luxus-imakönyvek. A Joszéf ben Móse Náftáli HáLévi számára készített imakönyvet a trebitschi Mose Léb ben Wolf másolta, melyben így minden egyes leírt betűben jelen van a másoló szakrális munkája, ami a héber szöveg szentségéhez kötődő fontos tényező. A címlap és a belső illusztrációk rajzai már a divatos rézmetszetekre emlékeztetnek, s a címlapon azt is feltünteti a másoló, hogy „amszterdami betűkkel” készítette a könyvet. Ez azt jelenti, hogy betűi olyanok, mintha Amszterdamban, a korszak legrangosabb nyomdászati központjában nyomtatták volna őket. A címlapon a szokásos kapu-alak, előtte kétoldalt Dávid és Salamon alakja jelképeikkel: Dávid a hárfával, Salamon pedig a jeruzsálemi Szentély alaprajzával. A kapuzat felett a Messiás előhírnöke lóháton, mögötte Jeruzsálem kontúrjaival. Az imakönyv tartalmazza a hétköznapi, szombati és ünnepi imákat, valamint a Pirké Avot teljes szövegét is, melyet szokás volt szombatonként olvasgatni.<br />____________________ <br /><br />Az imakönyv címlapját egy olyan oldal követi, ami még nem az imák szövegét tartalmazza, hanem az elmélyedést, és a koncentrálást segíti, hasonlóképpen, mint a zsinagógákban az előimádkozó pultja előtt látható siviti táblák. Ennek legjellegzetesebb szövege a menóra alakban leírt 67. zsoltár. A 67. zsoltár a mindennap elmondott imák része, azért az időért könyörög, amikor minden nép felismeri az isteni igazságot, és ez elhozza a békét a világnak. A zsidó tradíció szerint ennek a zsoltárnak a szerzője nem Dávid, hanem a szellő zengette meg így a hárfáját. Mivel a menóra a csoda és a megváltás szimbóluma, megfelelő formát jelent a csodaváró szöveges tartalomnak, de több misztikus magyarázat is ismert még a kettő kapcsolatára. A 67. zsoltár hét sora összesen 49 szóból áll, 7-6-6-11-6-6-7 eloszlásban. Egymás alá szedve ezek elforgatott menóra-alakot adnak.
