Az emancipáció előtti korszakban, a hátrányos jogi helyzetben lévő közösségekben a különféle jótékonysági egyletek biztosították a zsidó közösségek szegényebb, társadalmilag hátrányos helyzetű tagjainak ellátását. A kötet első oldalán a Szentély két oszlopára, Jákinra és Boázra emlékeztető oszlopokból hal-farkú, sas-csőrű, kígyószerű lények nőnek ki, köztük pedig kerek gránátalma motívum. A kötetben közel egy évtizedig vezették az adományokkal kapcsolatos feljegyzéseket, a következő kötet 1832.ben indul. Az Osztrák Császárságban az állami cenzúra a 18. század végén jelent meg, s egyebek mellett a héber betűkkel írt könyvek ellenőrzése volt a feladata. Alapítója Schreiber Mózes, a korszak egyik legtekintélyesebb rabbija, aki elutasított minden újítást és vallási modernizációt. Jesívája a konzervatív ortodoxia központja lett, tanítványai sorából került ki a korszak legjelentősebb rabbijainak egész sora. Tanítványa volt Löwinger Dávid is, aki – feltehetően sok diáktársához hasonlóan – tanulmányai során kézírásos jegyzeteket készített. Löwinger a modernitás hajnalán még mártogatós tollal, héberül készítette tanulmányaihoz kapcsolódó feljegyzéseit, unokája pedig már a felgyorsuló, modern világ egyik jelképének számító autózáshoz kapcsolódó fontos felfedezéseket tett. Bánki Donát, a karburátor és számos egyéb, motorizációhoz kapcsolódó találmány kidolgozója gyermekkorában magántanulóként még az apjától tanult, középiskolai tanulmányait a budapesti Főreálban fejezte be, majd a Műszaki egyetemen szerzett diplomát. Nagyapjának a Talmud Hulin traktátusához készített jegyzeteit Weisz Miksa rabbi segítségével juttatta el a Zsidó Múzeum formálódó gyűjteménye számára. Title A name given to the resource Pesti hitközség jegyzőkönyvei, 1828 Minute book of the Jewish Community in Pest, 1828 Description An account of the resource Az 1820-as évekre a pesti zsidó közösség már kiépítette szervezetét, mely a sokféle joghátrányban élő közösség életét szabályozta és igazgatta. A zsidó község életére vonatkozó döntéseket az elöljáróság hozta, melyben a korszak legtekintélyesebb – azaz legtanultabb és/vagy leggazdagabb - tagjai foglaltak helyet. Hetente üléseztek, és döntéseik eredményét jegyzőkönyvekben rögzítették. A jegyzőkönyveket eleinte még héber betűkkel írták, majd fokozatosan áttértek a gótbetűs német, majd a latin betűs magyar szövegezésre. Az 1828-ban kezdett jegyzőkönyvet két példányban vezették, melyek szóról szóra megegyeznek egymással, eltérés csupán írásmódjukban van: az egyik kötetet héber betűkkel, a másikat már gót betűkkel, mindkettőt németül, a német helyesírás korabeli szabályait betartva. Feltehetően ebben az időpontban a még csak héberül, illetve a már németül is író-olvasó elöljárók nagyjából kiegyenlítetten voltak jelen az elöljáróságban, ezért volt szükség a párhuzamos jegyzőkönyvezésre. A kötetek címlapja még héber, melyen a pirossal kiemelt betűk számértéke adja a dátumot. A címet a korszak biedermeier divatjának megfelelő, de a népművészet virágaira is emlékeztető rózsaág keretezi.
