<text>A zsinagógák berendezésének jellegzetes, a zsidó népművészetet jellemző darabjai a sivviti táblák. A sivviti táblák az előimádkozó pultját díszítik úgy, hogy az imádkozás során kelet felé forduló előimádkozó egyben a tábla felé is fordul. A táblák nevüket a rajtuk szereplő zsoltáridézetről kapták. A 16. zsoltár 8 verse szerepel rajtuk mely így szól: „Sivviti Adonáj lönagdi tamid” azaz „Az Örökkévalót mindig magam előtt tartottam”.
A sivviti táblák általában gazdagon díszítettek.
A mikrográfia a szent szövegek lapszéli magyarázó jegyzeteiből alakult önálló műfajjá.
Mordehaj ben Eliezer a táblát 1828-ban fejezte be.

<text>The Shiviti plaques are placed above the podium from which the prayer service is lead in a way that the hazzan (cantor) faces the plaque when facing east during prayer. These plaques received their name from the Biblical verse inscribed on them. Verse 8 of Psalm 16 says: Shiviti Adonay le-negdi tamid, “I have set the Lord always before me”. Shiviti plaques are usually elaborately decorated. Its decoration had to draw the attention of the cantor to Jewish values, and thus help him with concentration and immersion in prayer. Micrographic designs are typical elements on Shiviti plaques: the scribe writes holy texts with tiny characters in a way that they depict various abstract patterns, flowers, animals or human figures. The shiviti plaque of Leibrich Leeb made in Austerlitz, however, breaks with the tradition and the human figures appear, and the psalms rendered as decorative elements on the façade of the building. In the upper left medallion, High Priest Aaron is visible, while on the right one Moses with the stone tablets. Among them in a rectangular form one can discern scenes of King David playing on the harp, and Jacob’s dream.</text>

<text>A zsidó naptár kétféle rendszert egyesít magában, ezért luniszoláris, azaz hold és napszerinti naptárnak nevezzük. A zsidó hónapok holdhónapok, azaz holdújulástól holdújulásig tartanak, míg a zsidó év átlagos időtartama megfelel a napév időtartamának. A zsidó vallás az évek számítása tekintetében a világ teremtését tekinti kiindulópontnak, ami a rabbinikus hagyomány szerint az i.e. 3760-as év volt, tehát napjainkban az 5770-es éveket éljük. A zsidó naptárban a napokat estétől következő estéig számítják, ezért az ünnepek mindig az esti csillag feljövetelével kezdődnek.
A zsidó újév, Ros Hasana ősszel, szeptember – októberben van. A hagyomány szerint ezeken a napokon dől el minden teremtmény sorsa, Ros Hasana a megtérés napja. A zsinagógában a Tórából Izsák megkötözésének történetét olvassák fel. A zsinagógai ünnepi liturgia legkiemelkedőbb pillanata a sófárfúvás.
A Zsidó múzeum gyűjteményében számos régi sófár található. A teljesen egyszerű, naturális darabok mellett léteznek feliratos és megfaragott darabok is annak emlékeként, hogy az Isten dicsőítésére használt tárgyakat a lehető legelmélyültebb, vallásos tisztelettel övezett munkavégzés során alakították ki. </text>
