Kiddus vezeti be a családi ünnepeket csakúgy, mint a közösség közös lakomáit, megemlékezéseit. A kiddushoz a bort díszes serlegbe, kehelybe vagy akár egyszerű pohárba is önthetik, csak az áldásmondáshoz szükséges minimális bormennyiség meghatározott, a többi a használók igényei és lehetőségei szerint alakul. A közösségi kiddusoknál használt serlegek jellemzően díszesek és drágák, hiszen az egész közösség parancsolatok kiteljesítése iránti igényének jelképei. A hevra kadisák, azaz a temetkezési és jótékonysági szentegyletek a közösségek legelőkelőbb, áldozatvállalásra leginkább képes és hajlamos tagjait fogadták soraikba. Az egyleti gyűlések, tisztújítások és a halottak emlékére rendezett közösségi alkalmak mindegyikét kiddus vezette be. Az ehhez használt serlegeket általában az egylet jótékony pénztárából készíttették vagy vásárolták, s a vásárlás tényét és időpontját rávésették a tárgyakra is. Gyakori, hogy a tárgyak csak ezen felirataik alapján köthetőek a zsidó tradícióhoz és nevezhetőek judaikának, megjelenésük, mintakincsük pedig nem különbözik a más közösségekben használt serlegektől. Az óbudai hevra kadisa aranyozott ezüst serlegét felső felirata szerint Gumpel úr, Wolf úr és Gerson úr készíttették 1749-ben. A tárgy jóval korábbi, az 1600-as évek elején készült. A gazdag növényi ornamentika mellett három koszorúban sisakos antik harcosfejek utalnak arra, hogy eredetileg más célra készülhetett. Az eredeti adományozás után több mint száz évvel újabb vésett felirat került a tárgyra, mely szerint „Ajándék örök emlékezetül a pesti Szent Egyletnek tőlem, Mózes Izsáktól, akinek fénye világítson, fia Wolf Holitschernek, kinek emléke legyen áldott. A kis időszámítás szerint 638-ban.” A Holitscher család előkelő óbudai zsidó család volt, akiknek nevét az óbudai jegyzőkönyvekben és több szertartási tárgyon is olvashatjuk. A felirat tanúsága szerint leszármazottaik az óbudai zsidók többségéhez hasonlóan átköltöztek a Duna másik oldalára, Pestre, ahol az 1800-as évek közepétől egyre erősödő zsidó közösség alakult ki. A korábban az óbudai hevra kadisa tulajdonában lévő serleget 1878-ban Holitscher Mózes Izsák a pesti hevra kadisának ajándékozta, ahol feltehetően az 1930-as évekig használták.
