Most szerda délután van, becsomagoltak és megyünk. Isten veletek drága családom, a Jó Isten legyen veletek. Ölel és csókol Aputok.
Áldott legyen az a kéz, aki ezt a lapot bedobja.

Drága szeretett anyukám és gyermekeim,
Már ledobtam egy levelezőlapot a vonatról, megpróbálok még egy levelet írni. Tagadhatatlan, egy igen hosszú útra megyünk. Segítsen meg a Jóisten, hogy örömmel találkozhassunk, hisz szombaton is történt egy csoda, most is megsegíthet a Jóisten. Nem hozhattunk magunkkal semmit, mindenünket elvettek, a hátizsákunk egy külön vagonban van, irány Németország, mi legalábbis ezt tudjuk, de lehet, hogy Kassán keresztül megyünk. A kísérők meglehetősen bánnak velünk, most szerencse nincs olyan meleg, ha tudok, úgy még írni fogok valahonnan. Nem akarlak benneteket elkeseríteni, de nagyon szeretnék még élni, és adja a Jóisten, hogy ezt el is érjük. Drága gyerekeim, vigyázzatok a drága anyukánkra, és te drága anyukám, vigyázz, a mi közös szemünk fényeire. És ha ez sikerül, akkor ezt megháláljuk a Jóistennek. Addig is szívből jövő meleg szeretettel ölel és csókol a titeket nagyon szerető aputok. Csütörtök fél tizenegy, tehervonat.
Aki ezt a levelet megtalálja, boríték és bélyeg nélkül bedobja, biztosítom, boldog lesz az egész élete!!!

A lévita kannát a jeles pesti ötvös, Prandtner József készítette, feltételezhetően nem a hitközség megrendelésére, hiszen azon nincs erre utaló felirat vagy jelzés. A kancsó füle egy kígyót formáz, ami akár Aszklépiosz, a gyógyítás istenének attribútumára is utalhat, de a zsidó ikonográfiában a bűn és a pogány kultuszok szimbóluma, így különösen meglepő a jelenléte egy zsidó szertartási célra használt tárgyon. A régi hitközségek tárgyai között több hasonló meglepetéssel is találkozhatunk, ami alapján azt feltételezzük, hogy a szigorú vallási előírások ellenére a tárgyak megjelenítését a közösség nem szabályozta minden részletre kiterjedően. <br /><br /><em>This levite pitcher was made by the wellknown metal artist, József Prandner, probably not for an order by the community, since there is no inscription or sign that would indicate so. The handle of the pitcher has the form of a snake, which can either be a symbol for Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, or in Jewish iconography it is the symbol of sin and pagan cults – either way, its presence is surprising on a Jewish ritual object. There are several similar surprises on Jewish objects, which suggests that despite strict religious guidelines, the communities did not regulate the design of the objects to the extreme.</em>
