A pesti Zsidó Múzeum alapítása után, 1912-ben Fürst Aladár a Múlt és Jövő hasábjain hívta fel a fényképek gyűjtésének fontosságára a figyelmet, cikkében a „zsidó kultúrtörténeti értékkel bíró tárgyaknak fényképét és leírását”, valamint „régi zsinagógák, templomi szerek, okmányok, zsidó iparművészeti munkák, illusztrációk” fényképeit kérte. A kezdeményezés eredményességét jelzi, hogy a Magyar Zsidó Múzeum 1915-ben megjelent első katalógusában az első tételek között szerepel több mint negyven zsinagóga fényképe, valamint híres zsidók portéi. A Múzeum alapításától alakuló fényképtárunk számára sok vidéki zsinagóga belső teréről ekkor készült először és utoljára fényképfelvétel, nem egy közülük kiemelkedő fotográfiai minőségben. A fényképek mára felbecsülhetetlen értékű dokumentációs értéke mellett a korábban csak zsidó szertartási környezetben látható tárgyakat, zsinagógai tereket beemelte a zsidóságról szóló kulturális diskurzus világába. The beginning of the Book of Chronicles is an illustration made up of micrographic Hebrew letters: Eve holding palm leaves in front of her with one hand and passing an apple to Adam with the other. In the center is a tree with the serpent coiled on it. Probably, the codex had an illustration in front of every book of the Bible. From the way it is creased, it becomes obvious that it had been used for a cover of a book. The title on the spine is very faded and cannot be discerned. It is possible that it had come into the possession of the Festetics family with the "plunder of Buda" in 1686, the time of the reconquest of Buda from the Turks.
