Magyarországon az első imakönyv fordítást az óbudai zsidó iskola tanítója, Rosenthal Móricz készítette, majd az első magyar zsidó Bibliafordítás készítője, Bloch Móric (később: Ballagi Mór) ellenőrizte. A könyv Pozsonyban, 1841–ben jelent meg. Külön érdekessége, hogy belső címlapján a pesti reform–közösség zsinagógájának, az Orczy házban működő „Cultustempel”–nek első ábrázolása látható rézmetszeten. A képen a divatosan öltözött zsidók a királyért és a hazáért imádkoznak. A jelenet eltér a hagyományos zsinagógai jelenetektől: az újszerűen a frigyszekrény elé állított tóraolvasó pult, a bima mellett álló rabbi és kántor ornátust, a gyerekkórus egyenruhát visel. Az ünnepségen részt vevő közönség a korszak biedermeier divatjának megfelelően, erős asszimilációs hatásokról árulkodó külsővel vesz részt.
