A korszak gyakorlatának megfelelően díszes oklevél felső harmadának képei a nőegylet tevékenységére utalnak. A képmező középén látható a Nőegylet leányárvaházának első, Damjanich u. 26. Sz. alatti épülete, melyben az oklevél kiállításának idején 12 kislányt neveltek a nőegylet költségén és felügyelete alatt. Az épülettől jobbra és balra álló nőalakok a nőegylet többi jótékonysági terét jelképezik. Az almát osztó nőalak a szegények tápintézetére utal, melyben naponta harminc szegény kapott ebédet, felekezeti megkötés nélkül. A fiatal anyákkal és kisgyerekekkel körülvett másik nőalak kezében gyolcsot tart, hiszen a kelengyesegélyt ekkoriban még természetben osztották ki. Az édesanyja emlékére komoly adományt tevő Fochs Antal tiszteletbeli tagsági oklevelét Gottesmann Marie, Bischitz Johanna és a nőegylet titkára, Buchsbaum úr írták alá.<br /><br />
<p><em>The pictures on the honorary certificate issued by the Jewish Women’s Association of Pest, founded in 1866, refer to the activity of the association. In the middle of the picture the first building of the association’s girl orphanage can be seen, where 12 young girls were raised at the expense and supervision of the women’s association at the time of issuing the certificate. Female figures on the right and left of the building symbolize the other charity places of the women’s association. The woman distributing apples refers to the catering home of the poor, where thirty poor people received lunch each day, regardless of religious affiliation. The other female figure, surrounded by young mothers and children, holds a linen cloth (trousseau) in her hand, because at this time the aid for mothers with newborns were distributed in nature. Antal Fochs gave major donation in memory of his mother and received an honorary membership certificate signed by Marie Gottesmann, Johanna Bischitz, and the secretary of the women’s association Mr. Buchsbaum.</em></p>

Magyarország legdíszesebb régi kódex–maradványa. A pergamen lapon a Krónikák első könyvének 7–39 versei, valamint mikrografikus ábrázolás részlete látható. Az illusztráción Éva almát nyújt Ádám felé, akinek csak egyik keze és egyik lába látható. Kettejük alakja között fa, melyre kígyó tekeredik. A bibliai szöveg első hasábja, valamint a kép széle hiányzik. A pergamenlap mind a négy sarka sarkosan le van vágva, a lap szélein pedig behajtás nyoma látszik, ami arra utal, hogy a pergamenlapot kötéstáblaként használták fel. A Grünvald Fülöp véleménye szerint talán az 1686–ban, Buda törökök alóli felszabadításakor felgyújtott zsidónegyed könyvei közül lehetett egynek töredéke, Scheiber Sándor véleménye szerint akár Mátyás király corvina–könyvtárából is származhatott.<br /><br /><em>The beginning of the Book of Chronicles is an illustration made up of micrographic Hebrew letters: Eve holding palm leaves in front of her with one hand and passing an apple to Adam with the other. In the center is a tree with the serpent coiled on it. Probably, the codex had an illustration in front of every book of the Bible. From the way it is creased, it becomes obvious that it had been used for a cover of a book. The title on the spine is very faded and cannot be discerned. It is possible that it had come into the possession of the Festetics family with the "plunder of Buda" in 1686, the time of the reconquest of Buda from the Turks.</em>

Az óbudai hevra kadisa imakönyve példa arra, hogy a zsidó egyesületek és magánszemélyek ha tehették, még jóval a nyomtatás feltalálása után is kézírásos, gazdagon díszített imakönyveket használtak. Az Óbudai imakönyv címlapja a nyomtatott héber könyvek címlapjainak formáját követi, a vékony térkitöltő vonalakkal a rézmetszeteket kívánták utánozni. A könyv címlapját ezüst lemez díszíti, melyen feltüntették a dátumot (1844), valamint a hevra kadisa vezetőit és elöljáróit. Érdekes, hogy az ezüstlemez eredetileg más célokra használt darab lehetett, hiszen 1821–es ezüstjele a könyv írásánál korábbi.
A kóser tinta jóval több vasat tartalmaz, mint az egyéb, elterjedt tintafajták. Ez a pergamenen tartósabb, nehezebben pereg le, a papírt viszont szinte szétroncsolja. Az óbudai imakönyv lapjai az erős tinta miatt szinte teljesen összetörtek, közepük morzsálódott, a betűk kiestek. A könyv restaurálása során a zsidó vallásjog, a halakha elveinek megfelelően szem előtt tartottuk a betűk, az írás és a szöveg szentségét. Az összetört lapokról kihullott betűket a lehetőség szerint visszaillesztettük, amit pedig nem sikerült, azokat egyenként konzerválva külön dobozkában megőrizzük. A restaurálási munkát Fehrentheil Henriette végezte 2007 nyarán.

Az amuletteken rontáselhárítónak vélt szövegek és ábrák láthatóak, jellemzőek színeik, esetleg anyaguk is.
A nagyméretű papír amulett szélét egyszerű piros és sárga virágokból álló minta keretezi, s ezen a kereten belül találhatóak a védő–óvó szövegek és jelek. Legfeltűnőbb motívuma a piros és sárga színekkel is kiemelt menóra motívum, melynek ágaiban a 67. zsoltár szövege olvasható. A 67. zsoltár és a menóra kapcsolata a hetes számon alapul; a zsoltárnak hét verse van, s összesen negyvenkilenc (7 x 7) szó található benne. A kép alsó és felső részén körökben és félkörökben Lilit–ellen védő misztikus nevek és istennevek, a menóra mellett a bibliai ősatyák és ősanyák nevei láthatóak. A meghatározott formában írt szövegeket a Sma Israel ima (Deut. 6:4–9) egészíti ki.

A középkori zsidó legendák szerint Ádám első felesége Lilit volt, de elmenekült tőle, és az ördöggel adta össze magát. A történetekben Lilit démonokkal vonul és elrabolja a csecsemőket. Az ártó démon kivédésére szokássá vált a szülő nők szobájának falára Lilit ellenes táblákat, védő amuletteket akasztani, melyeken védő szövegek és ábrák láthatóak. Az 1835–ben, Nyitrán készült gyermekágyi tábla (kimpetcetli) a neves rézmetsző, Mordehaj Szófer munkája.
A négyszögletes lap felső negyedében két szárnyas angyal egyik kezével Mazal Tov (jó szerencsét) feliratú drapériát, másik kezében pajzsot tart. A pajzson a 20. zsoltár szövege olvasható. A pajzs alatt középen Ábrahámnak, a zsidó nép ősatyjának neve olvasható. A többi ősatyák (Ichak, Jakov, Mose, Aharon, David, Slomo) és ősanyák (Sara, Rivka, Rahel, Lea) nevei kétoldalt, áttört geometrikus–indás díszítés között olvashatóak. A két angyal alatt Ádám és Éva nevét látjuk, valamint nagyobb betűkkel kiemelve a Lilit távoltartására szolgáló amulett–formulát: „Kinnt (legyen) Lilit, az első” – amit a három varázserejűnek tartott név: „Szinoj, Sinszinoj, Szmangaluf” követ. Ezután azt a midrás–történetet olvashatjuk, amelyben Illés próféta (Elijáhu) legyőzi Lilitet.
Ezt követi nagyobb betűkkel Lilit neveinek felsorolása: „Lilit, Abitu, Obizo, Amzarfo, Hakes, Oram, Ikfudo, Ajelu, Tatruta, Kliht, Avmakta, Setrona, Za, Tiltui, Fitasi.”
A gyermekágyi tábla szövegét a 121 zsoldár szövege zárja, mely egy Bibliai mondatból (Genezis 48:16) formált Dávid–csillagot vesz körül. A csillag közepén nagyobb betűkkel Isten egyik nevét, a Sadai–t (Mindenható) látjuk.
A keret alsó részének közepén ovális mezőben az író, rézmetsző, Mordehaj, tóra–tfilin és mezuza író neve, valamint a dátum: Nyitra, 5592 (1832) olvasható. Ezt két oldalon a „ne legyen a boszorkány” ismételt formulája keretezi.

According to medieval Jewish legends, Adam’s first wife was Lilith, but she fled from him and bowed herself with the devil. In the stories, Lilith marches with host of demons and kidnaps newborn infants. It was customary to hang a paper-cut amulet or plaque in the room where the pregnant woman laid, which served to protect the expectant mother as well as the newborn from Lilith, the dangerous demon. These plaques are full of protective texts and illustrations. The childbed plaque (also known as kimpet-tsetl, from kimpet, which in Yiddish means childbed) made in Nitra, in 1854, is the work of Mordehai Sofer, a renowned copperplate engraver.
In the upper quarter of the rectangular sheet, two winged angels hold a drapery inscribed with Mazal Tov (good luck) in one hand and a shield in the other. The text of Psalm 20 can be read on the shield. Below the shield, in the center, is the name of Abraham, the forefather of the Jewish people. The names of the other forefathers (Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon) and foremothers (Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah) can be read on both sides, between openwork geometric-vine decorations. Below the two angels are the names of Adam and Eve, as well as the amulet formula for warding off Lilith, highlighted in larger letters: "Out (be) Lilith, the first" – followed by the three names considered to have magical powers: "Sinoy, Sinsinoy, Smangaluf." This is followed by the midrashic story in which the prophet Eliyah defeats Lilith.
This is followed by a list of Lilith's names in larger letters: "Lilith, Abitu, Obizo, Amzarfo, Hakes, Oram, Ikfudo, Ajelu, Tatruta, Kliht, Avmakta, Setrona, Za, Tiltui, Fitasi."
The text of the child protection plaque is concluded by the text of the Psalm 121, which surrounds a Star of David formed from a biblical sentence (Genesis 48:16). In the center of the star, in larger letters, we see one of God's names, Sadai (Almighty).
In the middle of the lower part of the frame, in an oval field, we can read the name of the writer, copper engraver, Mordecai, Torah-tefillin and mezuzah writer, as well as the date: Nitra, 5592 (1832). This is framed on both sides by the repeated formula "let there be no witch".
The original copper printing plate is in the collection of the National Museum in Krakow.

A hevra kadisák a magyarországi zsidó közösségek legrégibb és legtekintélyesebb intézményei voltak. Elsődleges feladatuk a halottak rituális eltemetése és a temető fenntartása volt, majd kiterjedt szociális ellátó–rendszert hoztak létre. A hevrák tagnyilvántartásuk, szabályzatuk, valamint az események rögzítésére díszesen írt és illusztrált hevrakönyveket készíttettek.
A tagfelvételi oklevél felső egyharmadában három díszes medaillonban ábrázolt képek a Hevra Kadisa tevékenységeit mutatják be. Az elsőn egy temetésre igyekvő halottaskocsit láthatunk, amit kalapos férfiak gyászmenete követ. A második kép a beteget meglátogató egylet - tagokat és a beteg feleségét ábrázolják. Az utolsó medaillonban a Hevra-tagok segéllyel érkeznek az özvegyhez és gyermekeihez.
Az oklevél középső egyharmadát egy kettős kapuboltozat keretezi, melyben a boltozatok alatt németül és héberül írott tagfelvételi szöveg áll. Közöttük díszes ornamens keretben kis cedaka persely áll.
Az alsó harmadban található az Király utcai Izraelita Kórház litográfiája, előtte korabeli polgári öltözékben nők és férfiak sétálnak.
