Kohn Vilmos pesti papírkereskedő gyűjtése. A képeslapok nem futottak, a boltban árult képeslapok közül válogatta, majd négy albumba rendezve ajándékozta a Zsidó Múzeumnak. Néhány darabot később, kiegészítésképpen juttatott a gyűjteménynek.

A héber Biblia első egysége Mózes öt könyve, a Tóra. A zsidó hit szerint a Tórát Mózes kapta Istentől a Szináj hegyén, és vele együtt kapta annak szóbeli magyarázatait és a parancsait is, ez a szóbeli tan, a Talmud. A Tórából minden héten felolvasnak egy nagyobb fejezetet, a hetiszakaszt. A Tórát szigorú szabályok szerint kidolgozott pergamenre, a rituális előírásoknak megfelelő tintával írja a szófer, vagy más néven tóramásoló. A Tóra írásánál és használatánál a hagyományban rögzített előírásoknak megfelelően kell eljárni, ellenkező esetben a Tóra „paszul”, azaz nem kóser lesz. A tóratekercseket rendszeresen ellenőriztetni kell, hogy az esetleges kopások, rongálódások kijavításával minden betűje ép és teljes legyen. Krestin festménye a tóraíró munkájának ezt a fázisát, a pergamentekercs ellenőrzését mutatja be. A tóratekercs imasálon fekszik, hogy megóvják a profán tárgyakkal való fizikai érintkezéstől. Köpenye, amiben használaton kívül tárolják, az asztal és a kép szélén van, rajta hatágú csillagban a tóra koronája kifejezés olvasható. A tekercs másik oldalán a tóramásoló hagyományos eszközei: a tintatartóban álló kihegyezett lúdtoll látható.
