Főhomlokzatán a két szélső, hasáb alakú, torony jellegű épületrészt hármas ívű, árkádos előcsarnok köti össze. Az egykori Szenttamás község volt a helybéli zsidóság központja, ezért épült valószínűleg a török kiűzése után itt az első zsinagóga, melynek helyén, 1888-ban épült a jelenlegi (építész: Baumhorn Lipót). A második világháborúban erősen megrongálódott és az 1960-as évekig üresen állt. 1980-1981-ben a Technika Házát alakították ki benne, mely a külső erős leegyszerűsítésével, a belső teljes átalakításával járt. 1997-ben felújítva és egyes részleteit rekonstruálva. külső leírás: A mór-arab részletmotívumokat felhasználó, harmonikus tömegformálású épület főhomlokzatának karakterét az emeleti középrész visszaugratása adja, melynek révén a díszes hármas kapuzat válik domináns elemmé. Ezt jól ellensúlyozza a két szélső rizalit toronyszerű eleme: két-két szamárhátíves ablak, egy-egy ajtó és a szitalaktitdíszes főpárkány fölött emelkedő két-két sarokkupola alkalmazásával. A főhomlokzaton végigfutó, dekoratív vízszintes sávozást jól kiegészíti a nyílászárók záradékát követő, sugaras sávozás. Liliomos, rozettadíszes vörösréz pártázat, a főhomlokzat beugró középrésze felett kiugró oromzati elem a kőtáblákkal, valamint a mögötte emelkedő lanternás kupola teszi teljessé a monumentális, egyben harmonikus épületet. A főhomlokzat beugró főfalát a nagyméretű, karéjos rózsaablak és két nagy ikerablak ékesíti. A "TECHNIKA HÁZA" felirat helyén egykor dekoratív stukkódísz futott végig. Borovszky könyvének XIX. század végi archív fotóján az épületből jobbra egy földszintes ház látható, mely ma már nem áll. Chorin Áron addigra már arról volt ismert, hogy a német területekről lassan beszivárgó új, modernebb gondolatokat követi – ezek egy részével Prágában, Ezékiel Landau jesivájában találkozhatott. Enyhíteni szerette volna a túl szigorú vallási törvényeket, a kecsege fogyasztása mellett engedélyezte volna a szombati vasúti uazást is. Nogah Hacedek című, 1818-ban megjelent művében a szertartások egyszerűsítését követelte: héber helyett német nyelvű imákat és prédikációt valamint orgonahasználatot is engedélyezett volna. Ezeket a korszakban radikálisnak tekintett gondolatait végül tekintélyes magyarországi rabbik kérésére visszavonta. Chorin azonban nem előidézője, csak követője volt a reformoknak: a modernizálódó világ új problémák elé állította a zsidóságot. A felvilágosodás eszméi és a technikai fejlődés nyomán fellépő új helyzetek és jelenségek egyaránt zsidó vallásjogi válaszokat igényeltek, melyekre a rabbik a zsidó szövegek eltérő értelmezéséből adódóan különböző válaszokat adtak. Chorin a korszakban radikálisan újítóknak számítókat, melyekért egyesek kiátkozták, mások pedig a zászlójukra emelték. Ez a tény rávilágít a magyarországi zsidó közösség egyik legmeghatározóbb jellemzőjére: végzetes megosztottságára. Magyarország olvasztótégelyében egymás mellett éltek a szigorú ortodox szabályokat követők és az akkoriban formálódó reformok hívei; a keleti területeken pedig az askenázi többség mellett jelentős szefárd kisebbség is jelen volt. Ez a polarizáltság fennmaradt, és egyik meghatározójává vált a magyarországi zsidó közösség 19–20. századi történelmének. A mellékterek felett és a bejárati oldalon U alaprajzú, öntöttvas oszlopokra támaszkodó, kovácsoltvas mellvédes női karzat, melyre az előtér két oldalán lévő lépcsőházakból vezet a feljárás. Berendezés: frigyládaszekrény, padok, kézmosó, perselyek, kovácsoltvas rács, 19. század első fele. A zsidó közösség a Batthyány uradalomtól kapott telken 1810-1821 között építtette (Voyta Ferenc terveinek felhasználásával, Ehmann és Marek építőmesterek). 1840 körül átalakították. 1890-ben és 1928-ban a karzatot bővítették. A bejáratnál két emlékoszlop az első világháborúban meghalt, illetve az 1944-ben elhurcolt zsidók emlékére. Jelenleg koncertterem működik benne. Helyreállítás alatt 2006-ban.
