A kiállításról alapos katalógus készült, a tárgyleírásokat a korszak vezető múzeumi szakemberei készítették. A tórakoronáról szóló leírásban a korona abroncsán körbefutó héber betűs feliratot „Talmudból vett, s kivert körirat”–ként írták le. A korona felirata a valóságban: „E tórakoronát az adakozók pénzéből Icig és Lázár gábájok (tisztségviselők) készíttették a kis időszámítás szerint 556-ban.” (1796) A felirat Talmud idézetként való leírásában elképzelhető, hogy még a középkori antijudaista beidegződések köszönnek vissza, holott a kiállítás szellemisége ezzel ellentétes. A zsidó szertartási tárgyak szerepeltetése a magyar nemzeti identitás legfontosabb, ikonikus tárgyait bemutató kiállításon, a tiszeszlári vérvádpert követő időszakban akár politikai állásfoglalásként is értelmezhető. Elsőként Löw Lipót ismertette a Ben Chananja című folyóiratában, majd Kohn Sámuel hívta fel rá a figyelmet a millenniumi kiállítás kapcsán. Az 1932–ben újranyitott Zsidó Múzeum gyűjtési terveiben is szerepelt; a múzeum vezetősége többször kérte az Andrássy gyűjtemény akkori tulajdonosát, Andrássy Gézát, hogy tegye lehetővé számukra a kard megszerzését. Andrássy 1933–ban jó minőségű fényképeket készíttetett a múzeum számára. 1951–ben, az arisztokrata gyűjtemények államosítását követően a Joint anyagi támogatásával a múzeum végül megvásárolta a kardot. A kard iránti érdeklődés oka a pengéjén található két héber zsoltáridézet: a 113. zsoltár 2. verse és 140. zsoltár 8. versének első fele. A felirat miatt a régebbi kutatások hangsúlyozták, hogy a kard készültekor a magyar zsidók kardot viselhettek, ami meglepő a középkori megszorító rendelkezések szerint élő európai zsidó közösségek életében. A felső részen az egylet jegyzőkönyvei láthatóak, mellettük gyűjtőpersely és egy 1810-ben készített rimonpár áll. A felső polcról függő tárgyak tóramutatók és két tóravért. A tóraékszerek közül a tóravértnek, vagy tórapajzsnak nevezett tárgy jelent meg legkésőbb, a használatára vonatkozó legkorábbi adataink a 16. század végétől vannak. Ezek kezdetben a tóratekercsek sorrendjét jelölő kis táblák voltak, vagy annak jelzésére szolgáltak, hogy a tóratekercs melyik hetiszakaszig van feltekerve.
