                <text>Az Országos Magyar Zsidó Segítő Akció 1939–ben alakult meg azzal a céllal, hogy a zsidótörvények miatt segélyezésre szoruló tömegek ellátásához a megfelelő anyagi alapot előteremtse. A Haggadát 1942–ben jelentették meg, „hogy az egyiptomi rabszolgaságból való csodás kiszabadulás példájával hasson a jelen nemzedékre.” A bevezető szöveget az OMZSA vezetője, Ribáry Géza írta, a héber szöveget Kohn Zoltán rabbi fordította és magyarázta. A szertartás során énekelt részeket Szabolcsi Bence kottamellékletével közölték. A haggada hagyományos tartalmát Munkácsi Ernőnek, a Zsidó Múzeum elnökének az illusztrált haggadákról szóló művészettörténeti tanulmánya egészíti ki. A Haggada feketével és pirossal nyomtatott díszítése ókori egyiptomi minták felhasználásával, Göndör Bertalan tervei szerint készült. A héber szövegek nyomtatásához a Jeruzsálemben 1930–ban megjelent Nahum Lipschitz – féle haggada kiadás betűtípusát választották.</text>
