A Roma Virtuózok Kamarazenekar koncertet adott a Dohány utcai Zsinagógában. A fővároson kívül Eger, Debrecen, Szeged, Zalaegerszeg, Nagykőrös és Kiskunhalas adott otthont fesztivál eseményeinek. A rendezvény együtt kívánja bemutatni a zsidó és cigány kultúrát. A fesztivál fővédnöke Glatz Ferenc, az MTA elnöke volt. Zsidó filmnapokat tartottak az Örökmozgóban, a Vidám Színpadon Kóser Kabarét játszottak. A Dohány utcai templomban augusztus 27-én Dudu Fisher izraeli kántor adott koncertet, szeptember 3-án nemzetközi kántorhangverseny keretében fellépett Kelen Tibor New York-i főkántor, a New York-i Metropolitan magánénekese, és Giora Sharon Palm Springs-i főkántor. Augusztus 30-án magyar zsidó könyvnapokat szervezett Raj Tamás a Dohány utcai templom mellett, augusztus 31-én kiállítás nyílt a Zsidó Múzeumban „Elfeledett feledhetetlenek” címmel. A zsidó gasztronómiai hétnek a Margitszigeti Danubius Grand Hotel adott otthont. A Mazsihisz folyóiratot alapított „Remény” címmel, amelynek az első száma a fesztivál alkalmából jelent meg. A lap főszerkesztője Benedek István Gábor. A könyvfesztiválon Schiffer János főpolgármester-helyettes felavatta az ismeretlen szponzor emlékművét, ahol zsidó iskolák és könyvtárak számára lehetett adakozni. Az „Ájin” képzőművész csoport tagjai a helyszínen alkottak, és árulták műveiket, fellépett a Nosztalgia Klezmer Band, Fellegi Balázs és Fűzfa Júlia énekművészek. Előadást tartott Haraszti György történész, Voigt Vilmos néprajz professzor, Rapcsányi László, a Magyar Rádió főmunkatársa, Röhrig Géza költő. A Dohány utcai zsinagógában Schweitzer József országos főrabbi ünnepi Magyar Zsidó Levéltár 2012 istentiszteletén Tóth Emil főkántor énekelt. Ünnepi hangversenyt adtak a Budapesti Koncertfúvósok Joseph Hartmann izraeli karmester, és Antal Mátyás vezényletével. Egyebek mellett műsoron szerepelt Honegger: Dávid király című művének eredeti változata, amely magyarországi bemutató is volt egyben. Május 3-án Izrael Állam megalakulásának 50. évfordulóján a Magyar - Izraeli Baráti Társaság ünnepséget rendezett a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Dísztermében. Ünnepi beszédet mondott Göncz Árpád köztársasági elnök és Joel Alon Izrael Állam magyarországi nagykövete. Az ünnepséget a Magyar Televízió is közvetítette. A rendezvény helyszínén alkalmi postahivatal is működött különleges bélyegzővel, emléklap és különleges bélyegsor is készült. Szintén május 3-án egész napos fesztivált szerveztek a Margitszigeten magyarországi zsidó szervezetek Izrael Állam megalakulásának 50. évfordulójára (Yom Haacmaut.) Az Új Élet ünnepi mellékletet készített „50 éves az Ország” címmel. A lapban a magyarországi zsidó szervezetek vezetőin kívül Izraelhez fűződő kapcsolatáról beszél többek között Benedek István Gábor, Moldova György, Popper Péter, Kishonti Ildikó, Bánó András, Jancsó Miklós, Frank Júlia, Bokor Judit. Göncz Árpád köztársasági elnök pedig a Magyar Köztársasági Érdemrend Tiszti keresztjével tüntette ki Rónai Andrást, a Habima színművészét. A kitüntetést a Tel-Aviv-i követségen Csejtei István nagykövet adta át. Május 13-án és 14-én a Dohány utcai zsinagóga Alapítványa tudományos előadássorozattal emlékezett Izrael Állam 50. éves jubileumára. „A megvalósult álom” című szimpózium védnökei Joel Alon nagykövet, Glatz Ferenc, az MTA elnöke, Demszky Gábor főpolgármester, Platthy Iván államtitkár, Schweitzer József országos főrabbi, Zoltai Gusztáv ügyvezető igazgató. Heisler László a körzet elnöke megnyitója után Glatz Ferenc akadémikus a magyar - zsidó kapcsolatok alakulásáról tartott előadást. Schweitzer József Netonek József rabbiról, Jehuda Don Izrael és a világ zsidóságának jövőjéről beszélt. Bokor Péter „Nehéz föld” című dokumentumfilmjének levetítése után Raphael Vágó Erec és a Galut kapcsolatát elemezte, Peter Haber a pozsonyi első cionista kongresszus jelentőségéről beszélt, Siró Béla a palesztinai jisuv első világháború előtti korszakáról beszélt. Toronyi Zsuzsa a Magyar Zsidó Levéltárban őrzött palesztinai képeslapokat vetített a két háború közötti időszakból. Az első nap estéjén ünnepi hangversenyt rendeztek a Dohány utcai templomban Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, Mendelssohn és Goldmark műveiből. A második napon Gerő András „A nemzetisten és a zsidók” címmel, Ferenczi László „Menahim Begin emlékiratairól” tartott előadást, Kiss József az ortodoxia és a cionizmus kapcsolatáról, Ambrus Katalin egy cionista regényről, Arthur Koestler „Mint éjjeli tolvaj” című művéről beszélt. A második nap végén Schőner Alfréd kerekasztal-beszélgetést szervezett a zsidó ifjúsági szervezetek küldötteivel. Május 16-án függetlenségi ünnepet rendeztek Kiskunhalason. Az Izrael Állam megalakulásának 50. évfordulóját ünneplők között volt Joel Alon izraeli nagykövet is. Az egybegyűlteket Raáb András, a hitközség új elnöke köszöntötte. 7.
