Az emberalakokat a salamoni szentélyben ábrázolja a metszet készítője, a két oszlop között a kérubokkal díszített szent ládát láthatjuk. A kép megértését segíti a Mózes és Áron feje fölött elhelyezett két tábla, melyeken a Példabeszédek könyvének két versének kezdőszavai olvashatók. (Példabeszédek 9:1, 9:4.) A kompozíció felső harmadában a felvilágosodás korszakában gyakori, Isteni jelenlétet mutató ábrázolás: felhők között háromszögbe helyezett szem.
