A tábla felső harmadában nagy betűkkel héber szöveg áll: „Mihelyt beköszönt ádár, meg kell sokasítani az örömöt”. A kevés 19. századi kivétel egyike Mordeháj Szófer papírra, rézlemezről nyomtatott, gazdagon illusztrált megillája. Mordeháj szófer sztam, azaz tóra, tfilin és mezuza író szófer volt, aki szakrális pergamenek írásával kereste kenyerét, de számos rézmetszete és illusztrált kézirata is fennmaradt. A papírra nyomtatott megillája rituális célra nem használható, inkább a haszkalapárti, polgárosult zsidó rétegek vásárolhatták.  &#13;
Ez a tekercs három, összeragasztott papírlapból áll, melyre három nyomólemezről készült a szöveg és az illusztráció. A szöveg 11, különböző szélességű oszlopban jelenik meg. A tekercs elején gazdagon illusztrált keretben a megillaolvasásra mondandó áldás szövege látható. Mordeháj Szófer két helyen is megnevezte magát: az első, díszes betűkkel írt szó közepén apró, mikrografikus betűkkel, a tekercs végén pedig egy koronás palásttal díszített ovális mezőben: készítette Mordeháj Szófer sztam, Jozl Szófer sztam fia, a kis időszámítás szerint 594-ben (1834), Nyitrán. &#13;

                <text>A nagyméretű pergamen lap eredetileg egy Megilat Eszterhez (a bibliai Eszter könyve) tartozott. Írója gyakorlott szófer lehetett, hiszen sikerült úgy illesztenie a szöveget, hogy valamennyi kolumna a a hamelekh (a király) szóval kezdődik. A tekercs feltehetően kikerült a zsidó közösség használatából, hiszen a zsidó hagyomány szerint használhatatlanná válása után genizába kellett volna helyezni – esetünkben pedig nem ez történt. A feldarabolt tekercs egy darabjának visszáján latin nyelvű oklevelet találunk: II. Rákóczi György erdélyi fejedelem 1650. január 26-án Segesváron kelt adománylevelét Fodor de Bodok Balázs részére. Az eredeti dokumentum a Gyulafehérvári Liber Regius XXVI. kötetében, a 315 a-b oldalon olvasható, latin kurzív írással. E másolat az eredeti dokumentum átírása, mely egy jóval korábbi oklevélstílust imitál; középkori formában próbálja a nemességadományozás tényét leírni. Az eredetileg csak szövegesen rögzített címerleírást itt feltehetően megfestették, az ábrát azonban később kivágták az oklevélből. </text>
