Title A name given to the resource Fischer Mór fényképe Description An account of the resource Az 1869-ben Herenden készített fényképen az akkor már hetven éves Fischer Mór látható porcelángyárának egyik remekével. Fischer Mór 1799. március 25-én született Tatán. Kezdetben a tatai majolikagyárat és a pápai keménycserép üzemet bérelte, majd 1839-től kezdett porcelán előállítási kísérletekbe Herenden. Termékei a magyar Iparmű Kiállítások mellett szerepeltek az 1851-től megrendezett Világkiállításokon is: 1851-ben Londonban, 1853-ban New Yorkban, 1855-ben és 1867-ben Párizsban. Eredményeit az uralkodó magyar nemesi címmel jutalmazta, amihez Fischer Mór a tatai szülőházának neve (Wolfshaus) a „farkasházi” nemesi előnevet választotta. 1874-ben Fischer Mór átadta a gyár vezetését fiainak, akik a magas minőségű, kézzel festett luxus porcelánok helyett áttértek a tömegtermelésre, de ezzel együtt sem tudtak igazán versenyképesek maradni. Farkasházi Fischer Mór nyolcvanegy éves korában, 1880-ben halt meg. A tatai zsidó temetőben lévő nyughelyét porcelánból készített síremlék jelöli.
