Rosenberg Miklós századát keletre, az ukrajnai frontra vezényelték. 1945. április 8-án Korosztenyben halt meg. A soha be nem fejezett makett elkészült részét lánya ajándékozta a Magyar Zsidó Levéltárnak 1984-ben, majd a múzeum és a levéltár egyesítését követően került a múzeum gyűjteményébe.
