Markolata a kardból elnyúló nyél szegein egy-egy lefelé, illetve fölfelé hajlított aranyozott és poncolt karély. A markolata felfelé keskenyedik és hét sávra osztott, mindegyik sáv díszítése más. A markolat aranyozott gömbön végződik, és azon ugyancsak aranyozott makk. A kardon vésett héber felirat: "Az Örökkévaló az én Uram, hatalmas segítőm! Áldott legyen az Örökkévaló neve!" Kardhüvely: Három aranyozott pánttal osztott. Alsó végén a markolat díszítése ismétlődik. A hüvelyen trébelt levél és virág, inda díszek. A hüvelyre két karika van erősítve. A feltehetően 16. századi, héber feliratos kard a közönség előtt először a millenniumi kiállításon szerepelt. A történeti legendák szerint a kard Mendel prefektus díszkardja volt, ezért a múzeum szerette volna a gróf Andrássy Géza tulajdonában lévő tárgyat megszerezni saját gyűjteménye számára. A harmincas években hosszasan tárgyaltak a neves arisztokrata műgyűjtővel, akitől akkor még csak a kardról készült fényképeket tudták megszerezni. A főúri gyűjtemények államosítását és az arisztokraták előjogainak megszüntetését követően a kardot a múzeum a Joint anyagi támogatásával 1951-ben vásárolta meg. This sword from probably the 16th century, with a Hebrew inscription, was first shown at the National Millennial Exhibition in 1896. According to historical legends, the sword used to be the ceremonial sword of Mendel prefect, so the museum would have liked to obtain this object for its own collection from Count Géza Andrássy. There were long negotiations about the sword between the museum and the reknown aristocrat collector in the 1930s, but then the museum could only get hold of a photo of the sword. After the nationalization of private collections of the nobility and the annulment of the privileges of the nobility, the sword was purchased by the museum with the financial help of the Joint in 1951.
