The beginning of the Book of Chronicles is an illustration made up of micrographic Hebrew letters: Eve holding palm leaves in front of her with one hand and passing an apple to Adam with the other. In the center is a tree with the serpent coiled on it. Probably, the codex had an illustration in front of every book of the Bible. From the way it is creased, it becomes obvious that it had been used for a cover of a book. The title on the spine is very faded and cannot be discerned. It is possible that it had come into the possession of the Festetics family with the "plunder of Buda" in 1686, the time of the reconquest of Buda from the Turks.]]>
