Herend Judaica today
To this day, the Herend Porcelain Manufactory offers Judaica items in product range. The ornamentation of contemporary Seder plates is simple; in addition to the gilded inscription of the word Pesach, they are adorned with the most popular patterns of Herend: the butterfly Victoria, the stylized Apponyi pattern and the Rothchild pattern with bird motifs. Herend caters to the everyday needs of the Jewish communities, and in addition to functional pieces attached to Jewish holidays, they also produce decorative objects for the Jewish home. Since the end of the 1990s, they have added porcelain Mezuzah cases to the Judaica line. These items typically bear a Magen David. Wall plates are often decorated with a Menorah.
